A memory for life
The opening ceremony is the week’s major gathering. A two-hour-long show with music, dancing, fireworks, a presentation of all participating nations and joy unbounded. With 50,000 people in a packed Ullevi Stadium, this one should not be missed!
Previous participants have compared it to an Olympic ceremony and that’s the idea. The atmosphere surrounding the opening ceremony is electric enough to make you shiver with excitement. It’s a memory you’ll remember and smile at for the rest of your life.
Gothia Cup Cards
Opening Ceremony Tickets also include Gothia Cup Cards which give free travel on local buses/trams during the week of the tournament and discounted-price entry into Liseberg Theme Park.. although you may still have to pay for rides!
Gothia Cup Cards are valid for free travel from the Sunday and are not available for us to send before the tournament.
All ticket and card collections will be from the World Youth Tournament section of the Information Point between 10.00am – 6.00pm on Sunday and Monday before the tournament begins.

Tickets are £45 per person. Please note, these usually sell out prior to the ceremony so advance purchase is recommended.
